These Charts show there is no correlation with higher gun ownership and higher murder rates.  Indeed it is quite the opposite.  Higher gun ownership rates are slightly correlated with LOWER murder rates.  This is true even if you eliminate the outlier countries with extremely high murder rates.  It is also true even if you eliminate the countries with lower GDP per capita.  This shows that the oft cited excuse of "developed countries" still does not make the claim true that higher gun ownership rates leads to higher murder rates.  Each graph shows the trend line and in each case the trend is towards LOWER murder rates with increasing gun ownership rates.  The raw data can be downloaded in the link at the bottom.
