Common Sense Political Reform

"There is always a well-known solution to every human problem - neat, plausible, and wrong"

H. L. Mencken

The goal of this site is solving today's problems with cheap and practical solutions.

The first thing I want to say here is lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Don't criticize someone else's solution unless you have a better solution to propose in its place or at least a constructive change to suggest that will make it better.

Many people try to debate by simply criticizing the solutions offered by others.  When asked they claim that they don't have a position or that they aren't taking a position in the current discussion.  This is a dishonest tactic intended to guarantee them a victory in the debate.  In a one sided debate like this, all they have to do is find a flaw in the opponents plan.  The problem with this is that ALL plans have flaws.  The goal is not to find a perfect plan, which is not possible, but to find the BEST plan available.  By refusing to present their own plan these sophists hope to guarantee their victory in the discussion by ensuring that they are always on offense while their opponent can only ever be on defense.  Its like a ball game where only one team is allowed to touch the ball.  Of course that team will win, but it proves nothing.  Wining the debate doesn't matter if you don't solve the problem. All you have done with this behavior is prevent someone else from solving a serious problem.

I hope to eventually put up forums for open discussion as well as pages where scholarly research papers can be submitted supporting both sides of an argument on each topic.  I also plan to have pages where video debates can be organized and the recorded debates posted and voted on.  These pages are still under construction so if the page you want is blank please be patient.
